Leif's first cold

Have I mentioned before that Leif is such an amazing baby? He's got his first cold, but despite this managed to sit up this morning, crack a smile, and then panicked because he couldn't breathe. But he's still trying to be cute and lovable.

In related news, I think a nose syringe is something that J&J makes for parents to let them pass the time while their child is screaming. It certainly doesn't seem to do anything else.

Heh. A bunch of our friends refer to us as "J and J". When I read
J&J above I thought you were referring to us and then spent a few
moments being completely confused. :) I hope you mean Johnson &
Johnson when you say J&J.

Clearly *YOU*, Jenmu, are the purveyor of annoying baby devices!

It's *ALL* *YOUR* *FAULT*

(welcome back from your honeymoon! *g*)

Conspiracy Theory

Yeah, nose syringes are a key part of the conspiracy - it's to distract parents with useless tasks so The System can continue The War Against Terror unmolested. Take your nose syringe and use it on George W Bush!

Hey there!

Hey Jeff, just thinking about you and hoping all is well.
cheers, Mulan

I'm sorry Leif's having his first case of the ick. I'm 31, and I still hate that not being able to breathe feeling. However, I have to say I love your dry pragmatism in reaction to the "nose syringe." One of the few UU parents I've met, who actually gives me hope.

Syringe

I find the nose syringe works best if you put salt drops in the nose first and let them scream about that for a while. I've had good success with that technique.

I found your entry while trying to determine what I was doing wrong with the syringe that my poor daughter was screaming like a banshee (at 3.5 months she is in the midst of her first cold). Sorry to hear Leif was so miserable, but thanks for reassuring me the screaming is normal and the syringes are merely tools for torture.
