Flushing out the site
Jan. 18th, 2004 10:27 pmI've started to add to my site. Some of the ideas I've had are to make a repository of what I'm working on so that I a) Don't forget about them and so that b) people can see at a glance what I'm doing.
But here's the question: Does anyone actually care? Probably not. I'm not 100% convinced that it will greatly improve my work. But it does seem like having a portfolio of what I do could come in handy eventually. It's all quite ugly right now. I've decided that I should learn XHTML 1.1. Apparently recent versions of IE cope with it reasonably well. We might yet have a parsable accessible Internet yet. I've had people scorn me before saying that these advanced features don't sell anything, and that they'll never come around. Well, I started using Linux in 1995, when people said Unix was dead, now see where we've gotten to? ISPs weren't going to go anywhere, HTML 4.0 would *never* take off.
Each summer I go to Opus, a Unitarian Universalist 18-35 year old camp. The past 2 years, I've been learning more about accessibility, so I'm going to try and be good about it.
