This place just keeps getting better and better. Angie, Sandy and I went out for lunch yesterday to celebrate the arrival of our fridge and stove (and also because we didn't have groceries yet), and went looking for an Ethiopian place. We totally missed the Nil Bleu as we walked, and came across a place called Maniana. There were two ladies serving, one of whom reminds me of my friend Mermaid. She had a bright smile and would go out occasionally to dance in the rain. The other is a vegetarian and gave us great tips for places to go try for food and also told us where they'd be going dancing later in the evening. For dinner we made pizza in the new oven and then went out dancing.

I've never really been one for going out dancing in the evening. I enjoy it when I do, but it's so tiring to go out, wait in line, get into an expensive place with frequently bad music. This place, el Zaz Bar is about 4 blocks from our house, and has a $5 cover. I put on my nice jeans and a button up shirt and was overdressed. Smoking wasn't too bad there, but wasn't non-existant. The DJ could use a lesson on how to mix songs, and even how to pick more than 3 good ones in a row (this isn't just my opinion, he would clear the dance floor on a regular basis). We met the two from Maniana there, but didn't see them much as they were with a group of coworkers. After 2 hours of dancing, we cheerfully game home.

This morning, in the search for good curry and for a chance to get out of the house, we went to D.A.D.'s bagel and curry house. I had been there once before with Simon, when I come to Montreal with Angie for a church meeting. It seems like The Unitarian Church of Montreal is about 30 minutes on the subway, and about 2 blocks on either side. Very nice.
