Armed with cereal, music, a mirror, a hand full of toys, and 30 minutes of Judge Judy (whom I consider to be an excellent role model =P), I'm having my first evening where should he get hungry, he's totally mine to feed. We introduced solid food on the trip out here, and I haven't had much in the way of relaxing evenings at home where we haven't all wanted to just hang out. Angie's found a yoga class not too far from here and has gone off. So far we're doing well! I think I might plan this around a visit to the used book store down the street.

We told the relocation lady that we want to be within a mile of either Mt. View, San Antonio or Palo Alto Caltrain. Hoping to hear soon whether we'll have any luck, but hopefully we'll settle into this area for at least the next year and start to meet folks. It'll be nice to have our own furniture back finally. I'm ready to not feel like I'm travelling anymore.

I'm heading to Toronto this weekend for the Ontario Linux Fest. Later this month, I'll be at the Ubuntu Developers Summit in Boston. I'm looking forward to seeing people at both!

Giving up on living in San Francisco? What happened?

We want to wind up in the city eventually, but after biking for an hour each way, we figured out that the side effect of a long commute is that I work an 8-10 hour day, plus an hour on each side is 12 hours for her without any assistance. At our current place, I can come home for lunch if I want to in 10 minutes.

We're still experimenting a little bit, but the caltrain in Mountain View seems to come every 30 minutes during the times we want it, so we can go in really easily.

We'll see how it goes. hopefully we won't need to sign a lease so we can change our mind easily.

Yow, 12 hours is a long time. I thought the point of the Google shuttles is you could start and end your work day on them, so you wouldn't have to spend as much time in the office. Anyway, sounds like you've got it figured out.

Wish Angie a happy birthday for me!

Nice to read your blog!

Hi Jeff. It's been a while since I've read your blog (or anyone's for that matter!). It's good to catch some of the details of life there in Mt.View. We think of you all often.
Big Hi to Angie and Leif!
