It's strange being here at UDS-Boston-2007. I realised that this would've been the next time I'd have seen my old coworkers *anyway*. Working remotely meant that I really was glad to go to these, and I still am.

I turned 32 a couple of days ago, which I was pleased to discover is 2^5. According to Wikipedia, it is also a Powerful Number. I like the sound of that. =)

Congratulations. May you make it to 2^6 and 2^7 as well.

You know, you *really* get around! It seems like just about every lj posting you're in another spot in the world!

Crazy isn't it? The sad part is that I actually don't like travelling that much. My last job required me to travel a bunch, although that decreased when Angie got pregnant (at my strongly worded request). It'll pick up again with this job.

I was reading your post about going to Montreal and missing it terribly, though.

It would be nice to actually meet you again on one of these trips. I don't think we'll be up in Vancouver this year, though.

I think I'll be in your area in February or so. Pat D. (Robinhood) is in Santa Clara and expecting a baby at the beginning of January. I have another close friend who's unexpectedly had to move there as well, so I was thinking about taking a little trip!

When I was 32, if someone asked me my age, I would reply, "My age is a power of two," and leave it at that -- figuring it would be obvious that I was neither 16 nor 64. I think I was only asked once during that year, though, somewhat to my disappointment.

And, of course, when my sister gave me a mixed CD for my birthday, it had a series of 32nd notes on the cover.
