Sometimes the downs follows the ups...

Partner to the up of posting about pregnancy is the down of posting about not being pregnant anymore.

Thursday evening, about 4:30am, Angie had a miscarriage. She was sent to the hospital for the usual checkups and all that. They kept her in the hospital for a couple of days with a uterine infection and is now back in the hotel with me and Leif in Quebec city. We're doing well, and will head back to Montreal tomorrow - probably flying back to California on Wednesday.

I feel like I want to say something more, but I just don't know what to say. I hope you are all doing alright. My love to all three of you.

Yeah, I understand. I think that's about where we're at, too. On one hand, we have relatives who are gushing about this being another death in the family, and how it's losing a child, and we totally don't think of it that way. We hadn't felt it move, so it was still really quite fictional and surreal to a degree - And not in the lowest risk category, given the IUD and other things. On the other hand, I have another relative who's now telling me about things he hates about cell phones, as his died after I told him this evening. Doesn't quite feel right either.

There was a posting at work about a book, something about how we never know what the right thing to say is when something bad happens, and about how what we say is probably the wrong thing anyway. I saw the announcement that the author was coming to speak, just giggled and went "I don't think I need to read that this year, y'know?"

Thanks for the hugs and love (And to everyone else replying. I'll go through and acknowledge them soonish). It'll be good to be in Montreal for December 1st.
