I'm going to post pictures and such later, but we celebrated Leif's second birthday yesterday with 20-or so of us. He had a great time running around and dancing and seeing everyone.

As a fun side-effect, it was our first big house party. The place is finally setup enough that it feels like most things have a place to go. Yay! Sandy and Angie did a wonderful job with decorating while I was in California last week.

Wow, happy birthday Leif! I think you need to update your userpic to reflect this milestone. :) Hope you and the family are doing well. *hugs*

Thanks. Big difference between 2 weeks and 2 years! I've already picked out the new userpic. We're at the piano and he's sitting on my lap. He's playing with me. =)

That's somewhere in the list of things to do!

I noticed that you had pictures up now and wondered if you'd decorated for the party. That's always a key thing to make somewhere feel like home for me.

Yes, but it probably would've happened anyway given me going away and Sandy coming. Angie's not very confident in her decorating style, and I never learned to decorate beyond stacking milk crates and 2x4s as a "pretty clever bookshelf". Angie was really looking forward to her mom coming out so she could bounce ideas off of for decorating.

We've been trying really hard to keep the areas classy but still toddler-friendly. I'm particularly impressed with how the living room came out. I think short of some sort of area rug, it's now finished.

I found myself thinking about upcoming renovations to our on-suite bathroom this morning. There's no insulation in the outside wall as far as I can tell, so I think that it will be this year's renovation project. =)

I think we were also helped along making this place feel like home by it just being not in Mountain View, as well. Is that an awful primary characteristic?

Happy Birthday, wow 2 years already!

Of course, with a blacked out face and no profile information, I can't tell who you are to pass it on! =)

Although, that picture looks like a view out of Burrard Place. Is it? =)

Wow. 44 stories on reclaimed land. In an earthquake zone? I wonder who takes an office there? Pick me! Pick me! Pick me!
