Weekend to myself
Mar. 20th, 2004 09:49 amFeel's kinda strange - my belle's off to a YRUU conference and I've got the weekend to myself. What to hack on? Should I spend it hacking? There's a fresh layer of snow out there, so I sure don't want to go outside. I should at least go to the gym though, I'm starting to look like a computer tech. =) My cat spent the night stareing a the door waiting for Angie to come home. So cute, poor thing!
We apparently just saw the first mini-iso based install go through for Sparc, which I'm pleased about. And we also now have hppa nightly snapshots. New kernel needed, and we'll hopefully be able to get further with that. The hppa folks are so wonderful to hang out with. Hopefully we can get that arch up to speed in the next couple of weeks.
It's interesting thinking about the Debian vote. I've been part of a few flame wars^W^Wdiscussions about what the point of being a Debian Developper is. The only three things that you must be a DD to do is:
- Run for positions
- Vote in elections
- Access the machines
Given that machines aren't generally that hard to get accounts in elsewhere, and the majority of DDs will never do the first one, that leaves voting. I wonder then if the true measure for how active a DD is should be their participation in voting? Should people lose their franchise if they fail to vote 3 times in a row?
