First - I've switched the feed for http://planet.debian.org/ to RSS instead of atom. Atom doesn't work, and apparently never has despite there being a fair number of registered atom feeds.

Second - I'm likely to start blogging comments about religion. I think most people who know me know that I'm a UU and have been now for about half of my life. So this isn't new - I'd avoided posting religious things in my blog before because the software that I was running at home had no method for trivially separating things based on tags. I moved to LJ a while ago, and I think it has this. The question is what's the best way to keep things posted to planets without those entries? Is there some sort of a thing I can setup that says "make a feed for everything that *isn't* tagged religion?" If you have an idea, let me know. Or perhaps people don't care, in which case don't worry about it. =)

(Why doesn't the LJ spellchecker include obvious things like "RSS", "Blogging", and "href"?)

What aspect of Atom doesn't work?

I ask this because a system at work I'm developing is intended to expose Atom feeds, so I'd like to know any potential issues I'll encounter.

Atom works, but I think Planet Debian's Atom parser doesn't.

Atom is lovely. Well spec'd from what I can see and not terribly ambiguous. Just that planet.debian.org's parser doesn't handle atom feeds.

I kept getting complaints that my entries were broken showing up on the page, so I tracked down that I was simply doing something not supported.
