Time to talk...
Feb. 15th, 2008 12:01 amWell, I guess it's time to talk.
I mentioned in my last post some back troubles. These aren't really news - I've had those for a long time. The news is the discovery in early January that there's some sort of growth / lesion / tumour on that spot causing me further problems now.
So I've been for tests. The MRI was a couple weeks ago. The CT scan earlier today. I have an angiogram tomorrow to map it further. The idea in my head was to wait until I had something interesting to tell people. A plan, knowledge, all the rest.
Well, I don't have that yet. But where two days ago, I was thinking that tomorrow was just a day of tests, it seems that as part of the angiogram an embolism is possible - that's where they try to cut off the blood supply to a tumour to make later surgery a bit easier. It carries risks. It carries a night in the ICU and another night in a ward. Surgery would need to follow within two weeks.
So I still have nothing to tell people. I'm used to being one of the ones with the answers handy. I'm obviously a bit nervous, but more in anticipation.
Thoughts and love are appreciated. We get started at 7am pacific.
